OUR GHEE STORY

Sukhbindar, affectionately known as Sukhi, was a young girl from the heart of Punjab, India. Growing up in a close-knit family, she was surrounded by the warmth and love of her mother and grandmother. Their home was filled with the tantalizing aromas of traditional Punjabi dishes, and Sukhi often found herself in the kitchen, watching and helping her mother prepare meals. Their family owned a small dairy farm, and every morning, fresh milk was delivered straight from their cows. The milk cream was gathered once a week and churned into a golden, grainy, smooth product known as ghee (Clarified butter) using traditional Ayurvedic methods.

Sukhi cherished these moments with her family, learning the art of making ghee, which was used to cook delectable Indian dishes and sweets. The rich aroma of ghee simmering in a pot became a scent that she would forever associate with home.

After completing her education in Punjab, Sukhi’s ambitions led her to Switzerland. She eventually settled in the Jura region, near the serene Lake Geneva. Though she was far from her homeland, the memories of her family and their traditional cooking, especially the homemade ghee, never left her heart.

Life in Switzerland was fulfilling but demanding. Sukhi worked for multinational companies and NGOs in Geneva, which limited her trips back to India. She missed her mother’s homemade ghee. Determined to keep a piece of her heritage alive, she perfected the art of making ghee, achieving a quality that matched her mother’s. This homemade ghee became the secret ingredient in her Swiss kitchen, adding a special touch to the finger-licking dishes she prepared for her guests, who were always delighted with her culinary skills.

Despite her successful career, Sukhi was disheartened by the inability to find an equivalent product in Switzerland. The local market lacked the pure, additive-free, bio-organic ghee she longed for. Inspired by her heritage and driven by her passion, Sukhi made a bold decision. She left her lucrative finance job and embarked on a new journey: making ghee at home, initially for personal use but eventually with a larger vision in mind.

Sukhi sourced the finest Swiss ingredients, renowned for their use in making Swiss chocolates and cheeses, from the farmers of Jura and the Alpine valleys. Combining these premium Swiss resources with traditional Indian methods, she created a rich, natural ghee free from binders, additives, and preservatives. The aroma of her ghee was irresistibly appetizing, reminiscent of the pure, golden product from her childhood.

Thus, Sukhi’s Swiss Alpine Ghee was born. Her dedication and perseverance paid off. She got her product tested and analysed in the Swiss laboratory. With a commitment to quality and tradition, her ghee began attracting customers in the country. Sukhi’s ghee, crafted in the foothills of the Swiss Alps using traditional Indian methods, became a gem of a product, celebrated for its authenticity and excellence.

Sukhi’s story is one of blending traditions, merging the rich heritage of Punjab with the pristine landscapes of Switzerland. Her journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, the importance of heritage, and the beauty of creating something unique that bridges cultures and continents.
